Philosophy Course for Children

The program of philosophy for children is intended to teach children to LEARN TO THINK. Through this course, the institution expects children to be able to “make” philosophy, more specifically, to make a concrete type of philosophy.  We believe that both the institution and parents should maximize this task.

Our children do not make traditional philosophy as we know it: a transmission of historical or conventional contents. They actually learn a more authentic and originally kind of philosophy, which implies research, questioning reality and the world. This encourages students to develop an outstanding philosophical reflection. This will encourage critical thinking which is  basic to develop innovating persons.

CREATIVE CONFLICT RESOLUTION (AGENTS OF PEACE)

St. Jude School prepares its students for their future professional life holistically equipping them with the necessary tools to face the new challenges from the current world.

We have witnessed an alarming growth of violence at schools. Conflicts end up in violence and this issue perturb teachers, principals, families and the community in general. These issues should make us reflect about the education we offer and our society values within families.

Teaching implies constantly facilitate and mediate knowledge and conflicts generated where we coexist as at school. Therefore, creative conflict resolution becomes an important tool for teachers and students to mediate and solve issues in a positive way
