ANAPAZ SOLANO

Anapaz Solano, who graduated in 2020 tells us about her journey to fulfill her dream of studying abroad and enter the Universitat Ramon Llull -IQS, one of the best universities in Spain.

When Anapaz was 5 years old she decided that she wanted to follow her parents’ footsteps and study abroad. After many years of study, preparation, sacrifices and discipline she managed not only to get into the university of her dreams but also was accepted into 3 other universities around the world. In a few days we will see her leave to Barcelona to study Chemical Engineering. Her main goal is to produce environmentally friendly medicines or substances and to contribute to society with her knowledge on health and sustainability issues.

“I entered St. Jude School in 5th grade and in 6th grade I started my process in the CASE-V program because it helped me to combine my passion for dance without leaving aside my academic progress. I also had the opportunity to participate in a

Summer Camp at Tecnológico de Monterrey which not only allowed me to acquire new knowledge but also prepared me mentally and helped me grow in many aspects, especially showing me how to cope living alone away from home.

The IB helped me to make the admission process easier and prepared me to face the admissions tests; also the support I received from the school and the guidance they gave me. Without the school and the support of my parents I would not have made it.

To the students of St. Jude School I want to tell them to dream big. I always thought I could get to the moon if I set my mind to it, with effort and dedication you can achieve whatever you set your mind to, it doesn’t matter if you fail, the important thing is to keep fighting until you achieve it. Anything is possible.”

At St. Jude School, we are very proud to prepare and help our students and like Anapaz see them fly to any part of the world to achieve their goals and fulfill their dreams.

Guillermo
Araya González

Guillermo Araya González who graduated in 2019, tells us about his journey to fulfill his dream of studying Mechatronics Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

From a very young age, Guillermo’s dream was to focus on the field of mechatronics technology and thanks to his great capacity for research, his creativity, leadership and innovation, combined with his ability to study mathematics, physics and chemistry, today he is in Mexico studying at one of the best universities worldwide for Mechatronics Engineering.

During his time at St. Jude School Guillermo had the opportunity to participate in a camp at Tecnológico de Monterrey, as well as MUN and Space Camp. These experiences, as well as other activities allowed him to develop his personal and professional skills such as living on his own, cooking and experiencing living in another country. In addition, the very rigorous

International Baccalaureate Diploma Program allowed him to develop deeper intellectual skills and knowledge about university level subjects.

His next goal is to return to CR and develop electric mobility projects, improve the current technologies surrounding these vehicles and encourage the use of them to create a positive impact on the environment.

“To the students of St. Jude School I want to say that you can achieve anything you set your mind to, but remember dreams are not free, you must work hard to achieve them. Don’t stop fighting and take advantage of all the tools and opportunities that the school gives you.”

MÓNICA SOTO

Mónica knew from a very young age that she wanted to become a teacher. As she grew older her dream became stronger and she worked very hard to achieve it.

Today she starts her new path at Camilo José Cela University in Madrid with the best study programs where she will receive a double degree in Education and Psychology. Mónica decided to complement her education degree with Psychology because she wants to have the opportunity to get to know her future students in a deep way, focus on their personal needs and know how to help them when they need it.

Her next goal is to return to CR and open her own kindergarten and prepare the best students in our country.

Thanks to the support of her family, the IB Program, her academic excellence, her determination and the academic support she received, she managed to get through the admission process without any problems and reached her goal.

Mónica, our alumni from 2020, future Teacher and Psychologist of our country, embarks on her path to success.

At St. Jude School, we are very proud to prepare and help our students to achieve their goals and as well as Mónica to see them fly anywhere in the world.
